R.I.P. III Challenge

R.eaders I.mbibing P.eril Challenge
R.eaders I.mbibing P.eril Challenge

After seeing this challenge last year, and on various blogs this year, I finally decided to participate! The challenge is hosted by Carl at Stainless Steel Droppings:

There is just something about this time of year, when the ghosts of past Autumns and the Autumn to come chase away the dog days of summer, that entices one to read books that fit into the above categories.

It was a desire share the love of eerie, creepy, things-that-go-bump-in-the-night literature that brought me into the online reading challenge game for the first time back in September of 2006. My goals today, in this its third iteration, are no different than the inaugural R.eaders I.mbibing P.eril Challenge:

1. Have fun reading.
2. Share that fun with others.

It is that simple. Read on.

Since I always love a challenge, I’m going for:

Read Four books of any length, from any subgenre of scary stories that you choose.

I’m taking Carl’s advise and listing a pool of potential books, rather than the exact 4 I’m going to read (just in case I can’t find one at the library or something).

  • Eclipse by Stephenie Meyer
  • Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer
  • Blaze by Richard Bachman
  • Duma Key by Stephen King
  • The Darkest Evening Of The Year by Dean Koontz
  • The Ghost Writer by John Harwood

R.I.P. III runs from September 1st through October 31st, 2008. I hope to finish New Moon this weekend so I can get started on Eclipse next week. Good thing Monday is a holiday!! Have a great weekend :)

  1. I’m glad you joined! I am getting ready to start Coraline tonight. I have been told not to read this one before bed so what am I doing? Just that! YAY scarey books!
