Homer’s Odyssey, by Gwen Cooper, was released in paperback edition yesterday. It’s a wonderful story of Homer, an amazing cat who has been blind since he was two-weeks old.
Homer’s Odyssey is the once-in-a-lifetime story of an extraordinary cat and his human companion. It celebrates the refusal to accept limits—on love, ability, or hope against overwhelming odds. By turns jubilant and moving, it’s a memoir for anybody who’s ever fallen completely and helplessly in love with a pet.
I recently listened to the audio book and fell in love with Homer and his family. This is an inspiring story of how things don’t always turn out the way you expected and that, sometimes, you just need to take a blind leap of faith.
Gwen is currently having a giveaway on her blog – five free, “paw-tographed” copies of the newly released paperback! Gwen also donates 10% of all domestic royalties from Homer’s Odyssey to organizations that serve abused, abandoned, and disabled animals, including Blind Cat Rescue and Sanctuary, Inc. I just love that :)
And, for those of you who have already read the hardcover, you’ll still want to check out the paperback for the brand-new photos and Afterword!
Happy Whiskers on Wednesday!
We totally loved that book!

I’ve been meaning to read that book – thanks for the reminder that I need to add it to my wish list. Or perhaps I should give the giveaway a shot? :)

Sounds heart-warming, but I’m with Julie… I just don’t know that I could handle reading it.

I was about to ask the same thing as Chan and Julie, but Larry answered my question. :) I just have a hard time reading tear-jerkers.
