Miss Fran’s Garden Tote

Last night I finished my Miss Fran embroidery project. Thank you, Judy, for the extra thread so I could add a little garden for Miss Fran! As I was taking pictures, I thought it was interesting that I finished it on Thursday, considering the workshop was taught by Marisa of Creative Thursday :)

Sam, one of my friends I took the workshop with, attached her project onto a tote. I loved how it looked, so I decided to do the same! Do click over and see how cute Sam’s tote is, as well as all her other great projects and her adorable little helper :)

Thank you, Stacey, for the fabric scraps to make my border!

I had this brilliant idea on how I was going to make my tree and I really like how it turned out. However, I wasn’t thinking about how small it actually was until I had to cut out all the tiny leaves from fabric!

I followed this helpful video on how to sew mitered corners on my border. With the size of my project and borders, I thought the piece was too big to be a pocket on my tote, so it just ended up being a nice decoration for the front.

Thank you, Sam, for letting me copy your wonderful idea! Now I have a fun tote for knitting projects, running errands, going to the library…

Have a great weekend, everyone!!

  1. It turned out soo cute. Loving the addition of the tree – well worth the work to get the tiny fabric leaves on there. Beautiful! x
