Crafting With the Silhouette

Hello!

I didn’t mean to be gone for so long! Thank you for all the kind and thoughtful comments on my last post. I think, like a lot of bloggers, I’ve ended up using Instagram more than writing blog posts. I still enjoy reading blogs, although I don’t seem to have as much time to read/comment on those either! I am going to try posting on here a bit more often, and today I want to share some decorating I’ve been doing for different holidays.

Christmas Advent Calendar 2014I received a Silhouette Portrait last year and have enjoyed making cards and decorations with it. Last year I purchased Silhouette’s advent calendar. I had planned on doing something a bit different, but ended up making these simple envelopes. We just moved the star to mark each new day.

Since we have this frame hanging on the kitchen wall, I decided that I need to make new decorations for each month/holiday so we have a changing display. And, also, so I didn’t have to remove the frame after Christmas :) I decorated it for the New Year, but didn’t get a good photo of it.

For February, I was inspired by this Valentine Collage created by Kelly from the blog Finding Time To Create. I used some of the same shapes Kelly used, and found some other cute shapes in Silhouette’s Design Sore.

I decided to do something similar for St. Patrick’s Day and found some fun themed designs. Silhouette re-posted my photo on Instagram and I was so honored with all the likes! :)

Today I’m working on some shapes to use for Easter. I can’t believe it’s almost April and Easter already! Where has the time gone?
