Happy Birthday Cards

Hi friends; happy August! As usual, the year is flying by. How is your summer going? It’s been pretty hot here, so I hope you’re staying cool.

Today I’m sharing a couple birthday cards I made for my nephew and his girlfriend; they were both born in the same month :) I always like to customize the design and color of my cards to match the recipient.

My nephew’s girlfriend likes green and she recently learned how to knit, so I thought this patterned paper was perfect for the background of her card. I used a stitched rectangle die to cut the paper and adhered it to a white card base. Next I die cut the balloons from white cardstock and glued them to the center of the card. Finally I hot foiled the ‘happy birthday’ sentiment on white cardstock, cut it down to a thin strip and adhered it to the card with some foam tape as shown.

I wanted to make a more masculine card for my nephew, so this black and white patterned paper worked well. I trimmed the paper and adhered it to a white card base.

My nephew likes red, so I used red foil paper to cut out the ‘happy birthday’ sentiment. I cut the sentiment twice more out of black cardstock and glued the letters together for more dimension, then added the sentiment to the card as shown.

Thanks for stopping by, enjoy your day!
