Since we just got a new camera, I’ve been able to take pictures of some things I recently got in the mail. The first package I got was the American Red Cross Commemorative Knit Kit.
Even though the yarn color is Olive Drab, I think it’s just beautiful! The Red Cross has reissued the original knitting pattern they provided during World War II for Serviceman’s Socks. I’m not sure when I’ll actually try to make these socks since the instructions seem a little confusing to me. I think I’ll take a sock class first.
On Friday I got the book Knitting for Peace.
This book is by Betty Christiansen and has a lot of great information on “charity knitting”.
I’m really looking forward to reading it, but I need to finish my hats first :)
Love the Red Cross Knit Kit!
