And Then She Knit Socks

Charlie is checking out my first pair of socks! I think she likes them :)

Pattern: Sunday Swing Socks by Kristel Nyberg
Started: August 9, 2009
Finished: July 10, 2010
Yarn: WhiteWillow Superwash Sock in “Ice Princess” colorway
Needles: Size US 1½, Magic Loop Method

After knitting several squares for the Barn Raising Quilt, using the Magic Loop Method felt very natural in making these socks. I knit them at the same time with help from the book 2-at-a-time socks by Melissa Morgan-Oakes. It was a bit tricky at first, but once I got a few inches of the cuff, it started to get easier.

Good thing I have more sock yarn in my stash because I think I like knitting socks! Now I want to learn how to knit socks toe-up :)

I don’t know what it is about this picture, but I just love it!

  1. I like the picture, too! Really great socks; I took a look at the book and it just seemed too confusing to me. You are an Einstein!
