So, how did it get to be November already?!? I obviously intended to post about my family’s visit back in July…oops! Since my family comes out to visit every year, I try to think of new things to do each time, as well as visiting a few favorite places. The timing of their visit coincided with the National Down Syndrome Congress Annual Convention in Denver.
After attending the convention, we spent the rest of the week in and around Denver. We drove the Mount Evans Scenic Byway and another day drove through Rocky Mountain National Park. We saw several animals, but not as many elk as we have before. We went to The Wild Animal Sanctuary, which has wonderful elevated walkways to view the animals living in their wide open habitats. Closer to home, we spent some time walking around the lakes at Washington Park and took a tour of Hammond’s Candies. We visited the Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge and were hoping to see some buffalo, but unfortunately they were not visible on the 9-mile Wildlife Drive that day.
I thought I would just share a mosaic of pictures from our vacation. Feel free to click on the photo for a larger image, or click on any of the titles below for the original photo :)
