Hi, how are you doing? I know things are very different right now for a lot of us. I hope you are all staying safe & healthy, and working from home if possible! I want to send a huge thank you to all the first responders, medical staff, grocery store employees, delivery people, etc. that are helping us stay safe and keep everything running as normal as possible right now.
Although the situation in the world is scary, I have been enjoying all the crafty inspiration I am seeing on social media and blogs. It is nice to have an outlet to be creative, especially if it means something I make can bring a little joy to someone else.
Today I wanted to share some of the cards I’ve made for family birthdays recently. I am also going to make more general cards that I can mail to family and friends in the coming weeks.
For this card, I used Picket Fence Studios’ Spotlight on You stamp set.
I used VersaMark Ink with the image and sentiment, and also around the edge of the card, then I heat embossed using WOW! Embossing Powder in Metallic Silver.
I made the card below for my sister using Mama Elephant’s Piñata Party. I just love the cute animals and piñatas in this set!
I colored the images with colored pencils and gamsol. I added a strip of patterned paper at the bottom to look like the floor. (I need to work on backgrounds a bit more!)
I stamped the celebrate sentiment from Altenew’s Fireworks stamp set in Gina K. Designs Amalgam Ink and then used WOW! Embossing Powder in clear. I also used Glossy Accents on the balloon and glasses for some fun dimension and shine. :)
For my last card I used the Floral stencil from Gina K. Designs with white Glitz Glitter Gel. Although it’s not very obvious in this photo, the glitter gel is really pretty and adds some nice sparkle and dimension to the card panel.
I adhered the panel to a shimmer white card base. The sentiment is from the Altenew Build-A-Flower: Anemone stamp set and I stamped it with Gina K. Designs Amalgam Ink.
I hope you are all doing well! Wishing you good health and peace in these difficult times! And, if it happens to be your birthday this month, have a very happy day! :)
