Look Who’s Having A Birthday!

Happy March friends! We just had a big snowstorm yesterday, so it looks like a winter wonderland outside :)

My card today has a bit more of a Spring/Summer vibe. I haven’t done this kind of interactive card in a while, and I thought it would be fun for my sister’s birthday earlier this week.

I started by die cutting the pieces I needed for my background panel and interactive elements. Then watched Lawn Fawn’s video on how to set it up since I haven’t made this in a while :) I used a template on the reveal wheel circle to determine where to stamp my sub sentiments, then adhered this to my white card base using a brad and foam adhesive. Before adding this, I stamped a sentiment on the inside of my card.

You can scroll through these photos to see the different phrases I used for the sub sentiments.

Next I stamped the kitty holding the newspaper, the newspaper messages and the top sentiment onto the white die-cut panel. I masked the kitty and used a stencil to ink-blend the grass and sky. Unfortunately, I had an issue removing the mask, so I had to re-stamp the kitty on a separate piece of white cardstock. I colored the image with alcohol markers, then fussy cut it out and adhered it to the stamped image on the background panel.

I die cut 3 balloons and the arrow from the red cardstock and added some clear glitter over the top. Although you can’t really tell from the photos, they were quite sparkly :) I adhered the speech bubble and balloons onto the panel, used a fine black pen to add the balloon strings, and adhered the panel to my card base.

Here’s a video of the reveal wheel in action:

Thanks for stopping by :) Have a great day!

I’m also submitting this card to Simon Says: A Bit O’ Green challenge.
