This morning we went back to Boulder. My parents belong to the Albion Academy Historical Society, and they had a picture of the Flatirons taken in 1908. We wanted to see if we could find where the picture was taken and take our own picture. We ended up at the Chautauqua grounds, where we happened to be last Saturday. Today was a clearer day, so we were able to see the view the people had back in 1908. Below you can see the picture taken in 1908, and the picture my mom took today.
After lunch at Red Robin, we headed for Denver. We were going to check out Four Mile Historic Park, but we got a bit sidetracked:
As you can see, we went to the Denver Zoo. Denver weather is so crazy! Yesterday we got snow, yet today was a lovely day to be outside walking around.
Preparations were being made for “Boo at the Zoo” this weekend, so there were radio stations setting up their stuff, people putting lights on the trees and crates of candy throughout the zoo. Some of the squirrels were taking advantage of the free candy! We saw 1 squirrel getting under the plastic wrap to get at the bags of candy. Later we saw another squirrel running of with a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup!
