So yesterday was my birthday, and amazingly it was almost 60 degrees! What a beautiful day it was! I took the day off work, and today too, because, really, who wants to go back to work on a Friday ;) I had a fun day of Christmas shopping and then Nathan and I went out for a nice dinner.

Now, on to an exciting FO report…I have finally finished Salina!! I actually finished knitting the pieces last year, but I put it away because I was concerned about the seaming! I didn’t really mean to put it off for a whole year, but that’s what happened.
Pattern: Salina by Kim Hargreaves (my Ravelry page)
Started: September 5, 2008
Completed: November 27, 2010
Yarn: Rowan Rowanspun DK
I ended up adding more length to the sleeves before attaching the cuffs. I was also a little confused about what the pattern was saying regarding the cuff attachment. I think I did it differently than I was supposed to, but I like how they turned out. Other than that, I didn’t make any other changes to the pattern.
I certainly learned about seaming by the time I completed this sweater! I also realized that I would much rather knit a sweater, sleeves, etc. in the round rather than needing to do a lot of seaming. From now on, no matter what the pattern says, I will knit in the round if at all possible!
Beautiful. I should really pull out some hibernating wips myself.
Sounds like the perfect birthday.

I agree with the other comments – color, fit, model, pattern – all great on YOU! Well done! You might try a raglan sleeve next. I remember that being easier than the regular sleeve. Maybe that will be my project now! :)

Where did you take the photos? Should water run on those steps, or around them? Dad is wondering.
