Bloom With Joy

I saw that Simon Says Stamp is hosting a watercolor challenge this month on Instagram, so I decided to give it a try over the weekend on this pretty peony stamp from Altenew. I also want to send a big Thank You to Jennifer McGuire, because this is one of the many stamps/dies I received from a giveaway on her blog! :)

So, I definitely need to practice more with watercoloring. I used a watercolor pan set I got at Michaels for this flower. I used 2 different green colors for the leaves and just 1 pink color for the flower. I really need to learn more about shading, but I’m pleased with how this turned out.

I used the coordinating die to cut the flower, and I also die cut some fun foam for a bit of dimension. I stamped the sentiment with VersaMark ink and heat embossed it with bright white WOW! Embossing powder on some navy cardstock, then added the peony and some clear round drops from Studio Katia. This panel is attached to a top folding card.

I received some brush pens for Christmas that can be used for watercoloring, so I plan to try those on my next project.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have a wonderful day! :)
