Cards, Die Cutting, Stamping

Hope Your Day Is Magical

Hi friends! I wanted to pop in today and share this birthday card I made. I’m still making cards right before I need them, and I really want to work on that this year. I’d like to have a nice stash of cards already made and just be able to pick one out when I need it. :)

I used this great cover die to create an embossed scale background. Using a light green cardstock made me think of mermaid scales, which I thought would be a fun background for this magical sentiment.

I die cut the word magical twice from the same light green cardstock, then once more from some pearl glitter paper. I stacked all three pieces for a nice chipboard type word. While I let the glue dry, I stamped the rest of the sentiment directly to the background.

I adhered the green background to a white card base and stamped happy birthday inside. After gluing the magical word below the stamped portion, I realized it would have been nice to stamp the sentiment again and heat emboss it with clear embossing powder. Oh well, I’ll have to try that next time!

Thanks for stopping by :) Have a wonderful Sunday!
