Love You Floral Cards

Recently I made these pretty cards for my mom and mother-in-law for Mother’s Day.

I used the beautiful friendship blooms stamp set, which was a 45th anniversary collaboration with Hero Arts and Gina K. Designs. I stamped the floral image and ‘love you’ sentiment on 2 pieces of white cardstock using Gina K. Designs Amalgam Ink in Obsidian. I colored both of the floral images with colored pencils, and used the same 2 greens for all the leaves.

On this card, I used 2 yellow colored pencils for the flowers. I colored both florals in the same way: coloring the whole flower with the lighter colored pencil, and using the darker colored pencil to follow the inked lines to add shadow detail.

After coloring I trimmed the panel to about 4″ x 7″, adhered it to a purple 5″ x 7″ piece of cardstock, then to a white card base.

For my next card I used 2 orange colored pencils for the flowers. This time I trimmed the panel down to 4 1/2″ x 6 1/2″, adhered it to a 4 3/4″ x 6 3/4″ piece of blue cardstock, then to a 5″ x 7″ white card base. To finish it off, I added some Studio Katia clear drops around the floral image.

I hope you are doing well! Enjoy your day. :)
